Hardware and software

The Hardware and Software (HSS) section ensures installation and the continued maintenance of the operating systems software, hardware troubleshooting/ maintenance and the smooth establishment and maintenance of the most appropriate LAN and WAN protocols to support the efficient access of the established management information systems by authorised users. These responsibilities can be further described as: -
(a) Maintenance and updating of operating and utility systems software resident on both             mainframe and user hardware.
(b) Establishment and maintenance of the most appropriate Local and Wide Area Network     (LAN/WAN) protocols to various Government Departments for effective computer communications.
(c) Provision of highly technical and efficient secure confidential measure to the access of the established databases to authorised users.
(d) Promotion of effective use of on-line Inter-net, World Wide Web and E-mail facilities.
(e) Carrying out continuous preventive and on-call maintenance support services.
