REVENUE MANAGEMENT

The Revenue Financial Management Department is responsible for formulation of accounting policies, procedures and guidelines for management of non-tax revenue and monitoring and reconciliation of Tax Revenues collected by Zambia Revenue Authority in order to enhance revenue management. The Department is also responsible for monitoring and ensuring accountability of revenue collections through provision and accounting for accountable documents and production of consolidated statement B that forms part of the Annual Financial Report

a) Revenue Policies and Guidelines – Manages effectively, the formulation of revenue policies and guidelines for management of non-tax revenue in order to provide a framework to enhance revenue collection and accountability.

b) Management of non-tax Revenue – Manages effectively, the setting of targets of collecting of non-tax revenue in order to increase revenue collection.

c) Revenue Statements – Manages timely, the preparation and reconciliation of revenue statements for consolidation into the financial report in order to facilitate decision making.

d) Value Added Tax Refunds – Manages timely, processing and reconciliation of government value added tax (VAT) transactions in order to ensure compliance with VAT requirements.

e) Accountable Documents – Manages effectively the procurement, storage and distribution of accountable documents in order to enhance accountability and prevention of fraud.

f) Monitoring and Evaluation – Manages timely the monitoring of non-tax revenue collections by MPAs in order to ensure compliance to applicable regulations and inform appropriate interventions.
