To coordinate Tax Policy formulation, Tax policy review, conduct stakeholder consultation (consultative meetings)on the current tax and  non-tax legislation,  conduct tax revenue and non-tax revenue performance monitoring, monitoring the usage of AIA, publication and dissemination of Revenue Performance Reports, tax expenditure analysis and monitoring, review of double tax agreements and meetings, consultative meetings on the current tax system, in-house tax policy training, Tax Policy Review Committee (TPRC), review of customs and excise legislation, monitoring of Public Benefits Organisation and companies accessing ZDA incentives and training with ZRA on automation of customs data monitoring and tracking, capacity building in revenue management for local authorities, review of current transfers and revenue sharing mechanisms between LGs and CG, development of database for local government revenues.

1. Formulation and implementation of fiscal policy in order to mobilise and allocate resources to ensure economic growth and stability;
2. Preparation of the national budget in order to facilitate the attainment of government development objectives;
3. Formulation of legislation in order to support the implementation of fiscal policy;
4. Monitoring budget execution in order to ensure budget credibility;
5. Provision of advisory services to government and other stakeholders on revenue and expenditure matters for improved decision making; and
6. Monitoring and evaluating revenue mobilisation strategies in order to ensure adequate resources are raised for financing of government programmes.
