National Development Plan Policy

The National Monitoring and Evaluation Policy

The National Monitoring and Evaluation Policy provides a framework for setting up and strengthening the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) function in the public sector and among stakeholders in the country. The policy also gives guidance on the development and strengthening of an integrated and functional Government Wide Monitoring and Evaluation/Management Information System (GW-M&E/MIS). This Policy addresses existing inadequacies in the countrywide M&E systems.

National Population Policy

The National Population Policy was first formulated in 1989 and it was revised in 2007 and 2019. The Policy aims to influence the population dynamics and their determinants to keep the population size, composition, distribution and growth rate at optimal levels. The policy provides guidance for addressing in an integrated manner, population issues such as high fertility and mortality rates which usually result in a predominantly young population. It recognises linkages between population dynamics and quality of life as well as sustainable development. The Policy’s ultimate goal is to enable the country and its future generations achieve the demographic dividend.
